January at Eternal Maker

Anna from Eternal Maker is starting the year with a Sew-Along to make a delightful doll's bed in a suitcase. The covered suitcase alone would make a great storage project and is a cutting and sticking rather than a sewing activity.  Part one is here so I thought I would link my January visit to some supplies and fabric suggestions in case any of you are tempted to make a case,  plus a quick look at some of the new arrivals.

There's a wonderful selection of floral prints at Eternal Maker.  If you want a similar look to Anna's case, Lecien Flower sugar in yellow would work well as would another Lecien print, in blue from the same range

If you want a more retro look, this flower print from Cosmo tex in teal and orange has lots of appeal:

If you'd like a more boy-friendly print, how about these Little Robots from

This Lizzie House Hall of Gems fabric would be perfect for a treasure case and her fruity print from the Lovely Hunt would be great for play picnic or tea party play food toys.

Other suggested supplies are the versatile Cartonnage glue, great for gluing fabric to many card, boxes etc. and apron tape- in case any bits need a little tidy covering up!

Now on to some of the new arrivals.  In the winter gloom, I am dreaming of summer, less rain and  more time at the beach.  This At the Seaside print from Makower is perfect for summer dresses and skirts- The Cami dress pattern by Pauline Alice would work well.

The Big Bear Little Bear range from Lewis and Irene fabrics would be great for a baby quilt.
This is Totem on the left and Big Bear Little Bear on the right and both look like they would play very nicely with the border feature print from Faraway Forest by Lizzie Mackay for Blend Fabrics

Keep and eye on the Eternal Maker blog for the next step of the sew-along!
